Having fun with chord changes to a familiar song we both can relate to, we take a journey down the road
of piano creativity as we take a close look at how to incorporate great piano sounds, including chord voicings,
improvisation, fills, and more... this is a fun, informal session that I just know you will view as a treasure.
We take a lead sheet (which you are provided) to a song composed with similar chord changes to a
famous standard and interpret them in a way that will change your piano playing forever! I really take into
consideration the questions and input I receive via email when offering this content, so thank you for your
contributions! You can enjoy the videos while following along with the lead sheet for easy reference.
Of course, you can simply choose to watch and learn, as there is lots for anyone to benefit from,
even if you don't read music at all!
How You Benefit
As you may already suspect, if you can feel super confident with mastering your way through one
great standard song, you've mastered a lot, especially when that song is chock full of the most popular
chords and progressions you'll find in most of your other songs as well. So we've taken the chords to an
all-time favorite and made them available to you here along with an opportunity to peek over a
pro's shoulder so you can start cramming that "toolbox" of yours. Most of all, though, you're going
to have a lot of fun with the discoveries you are about to make. I only wish I could see the sparkle
in your eye as you reap one "aha!" moment after another : ) Remember, a major benefit to this

having fun with. Simply print it out and get ready to enjoy the demonstrations online. Also,
you can download them to your own computer for easy access... it's your choice!
Our first song Oh What A Rainbow (now say that 5 times fast!:-)) is available in four different modules.
Whether you purchase one at a time or the bundle, please consider that they are designed to be
enjoyed in their respective order for maximum benefit. Depending on your experience, you will

Oh What A Rainbow
Yowsa! You have arrived! You are here because you've been traveling down your own personal
"yellow brick road" while on your journey toward all those musical riches. No doubt you've crossed
paths with some Kalidahs or monsters of other sorts. Well, you've reached the gate of the castle,
you've been invited in, and... Toto has already pulled back the curtain!
That's right... the secret has been revealed. The man behind the curtain controlling all those levers
has been exposed for what he is and is now ready to "fess up"... now you've got him on your
side and he's got that bag of goodies waiting just for you. When it comes to improving
cocktail piano skills, this is the one that will bring scarecrows back to life, lure cowardly lions
out of their dens and away from the tv's and will revive the pulses of those tin men!
Why this one to begin? Well, for one, my best buddy in the whole wide world, Pat, loves that classic song
from that great movie and whenever I'm in his company, he usually throws the hint by simply saying
something like "Play my song" and I know what he means. Well, this one's for you, Pat... and those
of you in similar shoes as Pat! What I mean to say is he plays piano, too... and I know he'll be going
through these videos with some enthusiasm on that baby grand of his because he has the
same kind of fascination with "how all this stuff works" as we all do. Well, there's more to it
than that. You see, coincidentally, it's one of my personal favorites to both listen to and play.
More important, though, is the fact that the chord changes of this song are so tasteful and,
when you're playing creatively through these, you're equipped to play through so many
other songs, too... now there's a good reason!
FOR A VARIETY OF LEVELS
People of various levels will take advantage of this, especially those of you looking to learn how to
interpret those lead sheets in those fake books of yours. A familiarity with 7th chords will be helpful in
obtaining the most from this material. If your chord knowledge is not yet at that point, it is likely you will
enjoy these from a curious perspective... and let's face it: anyone can get something from this... after all,
just watch what I'm playing on the keys and do what I do! You've got complete control of the video so
you can "freeze" a chord structure anytime you like. Also, please note that this song is
presented in the key of C Major, a primary reason being that most people are familiar
with that key and will relate a little more efficiently to the material within its context.
